Tick tock, goes the work clock
A poem on the struggles of corporate life
Moving up the corporate ladder,
is easier said than done
Every day — a new challenge
every minute harder than the previous one.
With the chime of every new message,
comes a barrage of new tasks.
Enter — exponential confusion,
and an increase in number of asks.
Attending meetings back-to-back,
giving briefings on them one-on-one
Should we just conduct tete-a-tetes
or get some actual work done?
Managing productivity, handling stress
Making sure you get enough rest.
Staying hydrated, eating on time,
it’s truly survival of the fittest.
Who needs TV shows like ‘Fear Factor’
when you have the corporate world?
Just put contestants in a workspace,
see their stomachs hurl.
People come up to you to ask
questions without any upper limit.
Couldn’t they just sit and do research,
Without popping up every minute?
Days were blissful as a junior,
When we strived to achieve
Now as a senior, all we want to do
is finish the work and leave.
